WHAT IS CE MARKING?
CE marking on windows is a marking affixed on the product in accordance with specific rules where the manufacturer is entirely responsible for ensuring convenient circulation of the products in Türkiye and European Union markets pursuant to to 89/106/EEC Construction Products Directive. Carrying out production in line with international standards for many years, Fıratpen demonstrates its distinction in exports as one of the leading companies to hold CE certificate.
CE marking is obligatory on the products of window and door system manufacturer dealers pursuant to TS EN 14351-1:2006 standard released in 2006 and entered into force. The transition period for the CE marking obligation, the implementation of which started in 2007, ended in February 2010.
POSITION AND DUTIES OF FIRATPEN
Fıratpen is the party that produces PVC profiles and determines the performance characteristics of and designs the window and door systems to be produced in accordance with legal regulations, customer requirements and the marketing policy.
Fıratpen has authorized the Window and Door System Manufacturer and Distributor Points of Sale which have initial type tests (ITT) performed in laboratories approved by the European Union, for use the results of the initial type tests published in the official gazette of the European Union.
It has set the rules for the factory production control system that will continuously maintain the same performance characteristics of the window and door systems produced at the Window and Door System Manufacturer Points of Sale and caused such to be enforced.
Work Performed at Fıratpen and Manufacturer Points of Sale
- Fıratpen caused the compulsory Initial Type Tests of all window systems it designs to carried out in laboratories in England and Germany approved by the European Union.
- Manufacturer points of sale were given 16 seminars on the subject after the enforcement of the CE standard in 2007.
- An outsourced service agreement was acted in June 2008 for the establishment of factory production control systems at manufacturer points of sale. Works that took 5-6 months were carried out for each dealer in accordance with the agreement.
- 1890 man/day training was given to our points of sale within the scope of this work, as of 01.05.2009. On-site training on 5 subjects each was provided to 2500 personnel from our dealers throughout Türkiye. 12,500 personnel from our points of sale received training as of this date.
- On spot inspections conducted by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change at our points of sale participated in the project were successfully completed.
- Our points of sale were granted Q-MARK product quality certificates for the windows they manufacture in accordance with TS EN 14351-1 standard for the first time in Türkiye.
- All our points of sale were subjected to separate inspections and inspected in terms of factory production conditions, traceability, customer complaints, etc. These inspections are performed repeatedly on an annual basis for the continuity of the attained quality and its improvement.
1) WINDOW TESTS CONDUCTED
Fıratpen caused total 7 different features of the windows it designed to be tested by EU certified laboratories while only 2 features are obligatory to be tested within the scope of CE in our country by embracing the aspects of product quality, customer expectation, satisfaction and being an organization that sells products worldwide.

These tests aim at testing properties such as thermal insulation, energy saving, noise protection and long service life. Our customers directly benefit from these features such as wellbeing and economy.
2) WHAT FIRATPEN DOES AS A SYSTEM OWNER
- Products are designed in accordance with the conditions of the country where the product will be released.
- Approved laboratory tests are caused to be conducted for the designed window.
- The most comprehensive product range for CE marking is determined by evaluating the test results.
- Product catalogs and CE label designs are created.
- The production system is designed by the system owner for making test results available.
- General Appraisal and Production Manuals are prepared for each product series.
- Assembly manuals are prepared.
- Conditions are established for the Factory Production Control system to be applied at the production site of the Points of Sale.
- 6-month-long training and application activities are organized separately at each point of sale; Each employee of the points of sale is given training and made to carry out hands-on training specifically related to the work they do and are responsible for in these trainings.

3) WORKS CARRIED OUT BY PRODUCER POINTS OF SALE IN TERMS OF CE MARKING, DEFINITION OF MANUFACTURER POINT OF SALE
Fıratpen assumes the role of being the party that carries out production according to the rules it has set to sustain the same performance characteristics, keeping the Subsidiary/Assembly Points of Sale under control, and protecting customer satisfaction and the image of the brand it represents at all times. Manufacturer Points of Sale established and implemented a factory production control system in accordance with the rules set by Fıratpen in order to ensure continuous production of the products with the same specifications (performance).
PRACTICES;
- Determination of the quality control methods regarding the input, intermediate and finished products, documenting the periods and continuously implementing them,
- Assigning a traceability number for the window produced, accessing the traceability records pertaining to the product in case of a complaint from the customer or an investigation by the Ministry, which is the authorized institution, and establishing and ensuring the continuity of the system,
- Calibrating or verifying the equipment used in quality control in an internationally traceable system,
- Documenting the production instructions to ensure consistency in production quality,
- Documenting the duties, authorities and responsibilities of employees,
- Establishing and implementing the system for conducting periodic maintenance of equipment used in production,
- Establishing a system of non-conforming products, determining and implementing of the method related for recalling non-conforming products from the market if it has already been released, eliminating of non-conformities
- Documenting the factory production control system in the form of procedures or instructions or manuals,
- Appointing competent personnel who can ensure continuous implementation of the factory production control system,
- Establishing a system for the identification, retention and availability of records generated by factory production control system applications,
